Luke is a director, administrator, and performer based in Minneapolis, MN.

As an administrator, Luke has a long list of experiences in multiple different fields. He served as the Executive Director and Production Manager for his undergrad student-run theatre company, as well as founding/co-founding an improv comedy troupe, a new-works theatre company, and upcoming, a Shakespeare performance company. He has experience not only in artistic direction and programming, but business organization, team management, and marketing. As a director, his work focuses on theatre's ability to stimulate individual and widespread change through powerful, emotional, and evocative work, with especial experience directing and teaching Shakespeare.
"As a director and administrator, I have the invaluable opportunity to make real change on both small and large scales.
On an individual level, I am able to give artists a place to belong, grow in their work, and feel connected to other artists. On a larger scale, I can serve our local communities by stimulating economic development, providing art as a mental health resource, and creating spaces for interpersonal connection. I even have the opportunity to contribute something to our artistic and theatrical community as a whole- not only by contributing to our ever-developing art form, but by promoting values I hold dear: Compassion, Kindness, Communication, and Humility.

Many of my practices aim to establish a deeper connection between artists and the play, and many parts of my process focus on facilitation rather than direction. By sparking the artists to take upon themselves a greater portion of the creative process, they are able to imbue more of the play with their honest selves. Doing so has proven to not only be more sustainable and fulfilling to the artists, but to create stronger work.
I strive not only to achieve these goals myself, but to create resources for others to do the same. Arts leadership to me is not only about what causes you champion, but who you champion them with and how you do it."
